About the Role

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will service trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the United States. The role involves using modern tools and procedures to maintain diesel equipment and, at some locations, a growing fleet of CNG trucks. Key duties include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles; estimating time and material costs; performing work within Standard Labor Repair Times; responding to emergency breakdown calls; conducting vehicle safety checks; completing required paperwork and documenting parts usage; assisting senior mechanics on projects; and handling repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. • Estimate repair time and material costs; adhere to Standard Labor Repair Times. • Respond to emergency breakdown calls and perform vehicle safety checks. • Document parts usage, repair times, and complete required paperwork. • Assist senior mechanics and handle Driver Vehicle Inspection Report repairs.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, be 18 years or older, and be legally eligible to work in the United States. Physical ability to meet job demands, successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen and physical, and the capacity to work with or without reasonable accommodations are required. The position demands frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing, as well as constant standing, walking, and grasping, with occasional sitting and balancing. Workers are regularly exposed to occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals, and to environmental elements like dirt, odors, noise, and extreme weather, both inside the garage and outdoors.
