About the Role

In this role you will independently design stormwater and smart drainage systems, conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and produce detailed calculations, drawings, and reports. You will also coordinate with CAD/BIM teams, support junior engineers, and assume responsibility across all project stages under the guidance of senior staff. • Design stormwater and smart drainage systems independently. • Manage sustainable urban drainage (SuDS) and water‑sensitive designs. • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, calculations, and report writing. • Create detailed drawings and coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modeling teams. • Supervise and mentor junior engineers throughout project phases. • Ensure designs meet site‑specific biological and physical stormwater management requirements.

What You Bring

The position is for a Drainage Engineer (Design) based in Doha, Qatar. Parsons seeks a talented professional to contribute to a wide variety of infrastructure projects, developing both technical expertise in stormwater drainage and leadership capabilities. Candidates must hold a degree in Civil, Environmental, Hydrology or Water Engineering and possess at least five years of experience in infrastructure and water‑related projects. Proficiency with hydrology/hydraulics principles, culvert and urban drainage design, and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, GIS, and optionally Infoworks ICM is required. Advanced qualifications are advantageous, including a Master’s degree, Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it, and professional memberships (PE, ICE, CIWEM). Prior experience on GCC projects is also preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental/Water Engineering or related field. • Minimum 5 + years experience in stormwater drainage, catchment analysis, and infrastructure design. • Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and design of culverts, urban and highway drainage. • Proficiency with CAD and GIS tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcMap) and modeling software (SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS; Infoworks ICM a plus). • Ability to develop calculation sheets, perform complex math, and produce accurate engineering documentation. • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. • Master’s degree in Water Engineering or Hydrology. • Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or significant progress toward chartership. • Professional engineering memberships (PE, ICE, CIWEM, etc.). • Prior experience delivering projects in the GCC region.
