About the Role
In this role you will evaluate PLC and control systems, analyze data outputs to support decision‑making, and investigate manufacturing processes using knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials. You will also facilitate waste reduction and efficiency improvements through QCO, EP, Standard Work and PPS techniques, support continual‑improvement projects, and oversee the maintenance of Industry 4.0 systems, standards and documentation. • Evaluate PLC and control systems for accuracy and improvement opportunities. • Analyze control system data to drive data‑based decisions. • Investigate manufacturing issues applying design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and material knowledge. • Facilitate waste reduction and efficiency using QCO, EP, Standard Work, and PPS techniques. • Support continual improvement projects and streamline organizational processes. • Oversee upkeep of Industry 4.0 systems, standards, and documentation. • Apply root‑cause analysis and team problem‑solving to resolve design or manufacturing issues. • Assist management in identifying key success drivers and executing improvement objectives. • Train subject‑matter experts within the facility.

What You Bring
The position requires a strong understanding of sensors, PLCs and control systems, as well as problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work proactively both independently and within a team. Candidates should be enrolled in an engineering co‑op program at an Ontario‑accredited institution and possess effective communication skills, proficiency with MS Word and Excel, and preferably CAD, advanced Excel, Power BI or SQL experience. • Strong understanding of sensors, PLCs, and control systems. • CAD and modeling experience (asset). • Data analysis skills (advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL) (asset). • Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail. • High initiative, motivation, and proactive work style, independently or in a team. • Effective written and verbal communication; experience recording test data. • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel. • Enrolled in an engineering co‑op program at an Ontario‑accredited university or college. • Over 100 years of industry leadership in building and home improvement.
