About the Role
Under direct supervision, this role provides sales and customer service activities primarily related to retail customers, using sales techniques and industry knowledge. The incumbent assists customers with product selection, pricing, availability, and refunds or exchanges, and actively sells company products and services. Key duties include furnishing material estimates and quotes for small packages such as stairs, decks, fences, and sheds, entering orders into the system, scheduling deliveries, and meeting productivity goals. The employee also participates in customer workshops, resolves simple complaints, assists with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, and inventory control, and observes all safety procedures. • Provide customer service to retail customers via walk‑in, telephone, or email, assisting with product selection, pricing, availability, and refunds/exchanges. • Generate material estimates and quotes for small packages such as stairs, decks, fences, and sheds. • Enter orders into the system and schedule product deliveries. • Meet daily, weekly, and project productivity goals by planning and pacing work. • Participate in customer workshops and resolve simple customer complaints; escalate complex issues as needed. • Assist with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, and inventory control. • Follow all safety procedures and attend periodic safety meetings. • Operate motorized and non‑motorized material‑handling equipment safely.

What You Bring
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. To be successful, candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of sales‑related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Core competencies include knowledge of company and competitor products, pricing and estimating formulas, strong verbal and written communication, detail orientation, customer service, basic sales techniques, proficiency with Microsoft Office and an ERP system, and the ability to operate motorized and non‑motorized material‑handling equipment. The work environment combines typical office settings with outside locations that may have temperature and weather variations. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lb frequently and up to 80 lb occasionally, stand or walk for 80 % of the day, stoop, kneel, and occasionally use hand tools, saws, forklifts, or pallet jacks. • Hold a high school diploma/GED and at least six months of sales‑related experience (or equivalent education/experience). • Demonstrate knowledge of company and competitor products, pricing, and estimating formulas. • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication, detail orientation, and basic sales techniques. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. • Lift and carry up to 25 lb frequently and up to 80 lb occasionally; stand or walk for most of the day and perform stooping, kneeling, and tool usage.
