About the Role

The field service technician works directly under a field supervisor to deliver demand service to industrial and commercial customers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of classified and non‑classified HVAC/R equipment such as refrigeration units, ice machines, air‑conditioning systems, heaters, boilers, chillers, VFDs, fans, economizers, and pneumatic controls. The role requires traveling to job sites, coordinating schedules with dispatch, and maintaining the company vehicle and its inventory of parts and tools. Technicians must use field service software, possess basic computer skills, and participate in ongoing training on the latest industry technologies. • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot various classified and non‑classified heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment in an industrial environment. • Diagnose service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer recommendations, and explain issues and solutions to customers. • Document equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, equipment number, building served, test measurements, and photos. • Provide effective and efficient solutions to customer needs and demands. • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, estimators, supervisors, and management. • Travel to job sites, coordinate schedules with dispatch, and notify customers of any delays. • Maintain the company vehicle in good working order, refuel as needed, report mechanical issues, and complete monthly inspection forms. • Keep proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. • Participate in company‑provided training on the latest industry technologies.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold basic safety certification, a TWIC card, and a universal EPA certification, along with a clean background and driving record. They must be dependable, safety‑oriented, able to work flexible schedules—including nights and weekends—and possess strong customer service and communication abilities. • Be available to work nights or weekends on a rotating basis for emergency service. • Use field service software applications and possess basic computer skills. • Read drawings and blueprints. • Possess chiller experience. • Possess ice machine experience. • Have controls experience. • Have boiler and steam heating experience. • Have classified equipment experience. • Have experience with Aaon and Addison equipment. • Hold Basic Safety certification issued by HASC or ISTC. • Possess a TWIC card. • Hold a universal EPA certification. • Have a clear background, be drug‑free, and maintain a clear driving record. • Be dependable and punctual. • Work well in a team setting. • Knowledge of industrial HVAC equipment such as DX, water‑cooled chill water, air pressurization, scrubber systems, and energy management controls (pneumatic and digital). • Knowledge of industrial safety requirements, rules, and regulations. • Be flexible to work varied schedules driven by customer demands. • Exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills. • Ability to work on DX comfort and process cooling/heating equipment up to 50 tons. • Ability to work independently and complete jobs correctly the first time. • Ability to lift 50 lb and push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavy items with assistance or lifting devices. • Ability to carry ladders and work from heights. • Ability to read schematics. • Basic computer skills and ability to work within app‑based software. • 3–5 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of HVAC/R equipment.
