About the Role

The Project Manager, reporting to the Project Director, ensures comprehensive supervision and coordination of all phases of a construction project, collaborating with health and safety, planning, quality, cost, client relations, and subcontractors. The role is based full‑time on construction sites across Québec, requiring high geographic mobility and a rotational schedule. Acting as the company’s on‑site representative, the Project Manager plans and schedules work, prepares estimates, awards contracts, controls costs, and supervises the project team while maintaining strong relationships with clients, the community and vendors. They coordinate with site managers and superintendents, negotiate major contractor selections, manage procurement, lead site and internal meetings, enforce compliance, and oversee both administrative and technical follow‑up—including change orders, payments, guarantees, inspections, and final acceptance—reporting performance to senior management. • Plan tasks, create master schedule, estimate work, award contracts, control costs, and supervise the project team. • Serve as the on‑site company representative, maintaining relations with community, client, vendors and project team. • Coordinate work methods with Site Manager and Superintendents. • Negotiate and approve selection of major contractors with upper management. • Manage procurement and supplier relationships. • Organize and lead construction site meetings and internal coordination sessions. • Stop non‑compliant work activities as needed. • Conduct administrative follow‑up on costs, productivity, contingencies and contracts. • Perform technical follow‑up on data sheets, inspections and quality checks. • Handle change orders: estimate, bid, negotiate, issue orders/contracts. • Oversee payment processes, authorize payments to subcontractors and suppliers. • Manage guarantee follow‑up and coordinate inspections and pre‑operational verification. • Deliver completed project, secure client’s final acceptance, and report performance indicators to senior management.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical or construction engineering, is a member of a Professional Engineer Association, and brings at least ten years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, fluency in French and English, a valid driver’s licence, strong teamwork, excellent management, negotiation and problem‑solving skills, initiative, leadership, administrative rigor, and the ability to thrive in high‑stress, variable weather conditions are required. • Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, electrical or construction engineering. • Member of a Professional Engineer Association. • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Fluent in French and English (written and oral). • Valid driver’s licence and high geographical mobility. • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. • Excellent management, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities. • Demonstrated initiative, autonomy and leadership. • High administrative rigor and ability to handle stress and weather challenges.
