About the Role
Within the consultancy business, Mace combines leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery to unlock potential in every project. The role involves designing electrical systems from concept stage to meet business, statutory, legal and contractual requirements for government programmes, while providing technical assurance to ensure contractors adhere to design principles throughout development and construction. The post also supports the client during tender processes, condition surveys and handover. The successful candidate will bring a passion for building services and a proactive problem‑solving attitude, working on a variety of government and public frameworks that shape operational and embodied carbon strategies. Acting as a client technical advisor, they will oversee successful project delivery and contribute to net‑zero carbon initiatives. • Manage deliverables and oversee direct reports. • Lead design development per contract requirements. • Collaborate with design disciplines, clients, and construction teams. • Produce reporting information. • Participate in client meetings and design workshops. • Ensure direct reports' outputs are timely, in scope, and of high quality. • Manage training, appraisals, salary reviews, and career development for direct reports. • Develop team capabilities in C2P, digital tools, and net‑zero carbon initiatives. • Support business improvement directives. • Drive net‑zero carbon transition and manage associated emissions reductions.

What You Bring
• Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and MEP standards. • Effective technical competence across all MEP systems. • Relevant industry qualifications (degree or equivalent) and chartered status (or working towards). • Collaborative mindset for integrating energy‑efficient solutions with architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants. • Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Experience with LV distribution, lighting, power, data, fire engineering, security systems; knowledge of lifts and communications is a plus. • Ability to perform modelling, simulation, feasibility studies and whole‑life costing. • Understanding of project deliverables, RIBA stages, health & safety, cost control, value engineering and site inspections; capable of report preparation and troubleshooting. • Proven technical advisory experience, challenging non‑compliant designs. • Strong presentation skills for non‑technical audiences. • Current CSCS card. • Proficiency with Office 365 and Revit digital tools. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Flexible work approach and ability to use initiative. • Strong organisational, time‑management and decision‑making abilities.
