Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Depending on the route, drivers may perform residential collections, roll‑off services, or bulk deliveries, requiring skilled backing maneuvers in congested streets, alleys, and tight industrial sites. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Communicate customer requests and ensure sites are left clean and free of debris after dumping. • Complete daily route assignments, end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers.

What You Bring
The role involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers. Workers must be able to navigate high‑traffic environments and perform repetitive motions while maintaining safety and communication with dispatch and customers. A valid REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative is required for any travel involving federal property or air transportation. WM drivers are recognized as professional, well‑trained community members who prioritize safety, reliability, and timely service. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or recent equivalent military driving experience) and be at least 18 years old. • Possess a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
