About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste, recyclables, or containers to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities. Depending on the line of business, drivers may handle residential waste collection, roll‑off containers, or large mobile units, requiring skilled backing maneuvers in congested or tight environments. Key responsibilities include operating the vehicle in compliance with Waste Management safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and documenting checks on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. Drivers must report unsafe conditions, incidents or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and keep customers’ sites clean after dumping. Additional duties involve following assigned routes, completing end‑of‑day paperwork, assisting other drivers when needed, and participating in required training, briefings and meetings. Drivers work closely with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and communicate customer requests. • Operate trucks in compliance with WM safety, OSHA and DOT regulations. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents or service interruptions immediately. • Attend all required training, briefings and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. • Follow assigned routes, dump receptacles, clean the site and complete end‑of‑day paperwork. • Assist fellow drivers as directed to meet customer needs. • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching and reaching.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada, hold a current DZ or Class 3 (or higher) licence, be at least 18 years old, and possess an acceptable driving record. Benefits
This is a union position at the Petrolia hauling site with a starting wage of $31.15 per hour. The regular shift runs from 6:30 am for nine hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Overtime is paid for any time beyond nine hours in a day. Employees receive a competitive total compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance and short‑term disability coverage, as well as paid vacation, holidays and personal days.
