About the Role
The Ready Mix/Concrete Truck Operator is responsible for operating the vehicle safely and efficiently while adhering to Martin Marietta and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role requires consistent compliance with all applicable safety and environmental standards. The operator performs daily preventative maintenance, including fueling, cleaning, tire and light inspections, and checking fluid levels. Pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections are conducted, and the operator assists maintenance staff with repairs as needed. Mixer cleaning between loads, visual inspection of concrete consistency, and proper documentation of delivery tickets are also required. Effective communication with coworkers via radio, hand signals, or direct conversation ensures smooth operations. • Operate ready‑mix/concrete truck safely following Martin Marietta and DOT rules. • Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections (fueling, cleaning, tire, fluid checks). • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and assist with repairs. • Clean mixer between loads using water hoses. • Visually verify concrete consistency in the mixer. • Communicate with crew via radio, hand signals, or direct conversation. • Complete and return accurate delivery tickets. • Maintain professional appearance and courteous customer relations. • Train and mentor co‑workers as needed. • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and ensure OSHA/DOT/EPA compliance. • Work early mornings, evenings, weekdays, and alternate Saturdays.

What You Bring
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license. One year of experience operating tandem or ready‑mix trucks is preferred, along with a safe driving record and an active DOT qualification. Applicants must be able to read, write, and communicate in English, work well in a team environment, and demonstrate self‑motivation. The position demands physical abilities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying objects of varying weights, and performing sustained overhead reaching. Operators must tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and exposure to all weather conditions, as well as work at heights up to nine feet and in environments with high noise levels and vibration. • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL and be at least 21 years old. • Possess at least one year tandem or ready‑mix truck driving experience (preferred). • Maintain a safe driving record and active DOT qualification. • Read, write, and speak English fluently; work effectively in a team. • Meet physical demands: climbing, lifting, operating controls, working at heights up to 9 ft. • Tolerate outdoor work in all weather, noise, vibration, and exposure to dust or diesel exhaust.
