About the Role

As a Project Engineer at Frontier‑Kemper, you will be responsible for onsite engineering services required to construct underground structures such as shafts, tunnels, and slopes, and will collaborate with the Corporate Engineering and Mining Departments as needed. The essential functions of the position include quality control, document control, surveying, field reporting, and safety compliance, ensuring construction work meets specifications and regulatory standards. • Ensure construction work complies with project specifications and company standards (Quality Control). • Prepare and distribute documentation, cost, schedule, and production reports (Document Control). • Establish and maintain line and grade control; prepare drawings, sketches, as‑built records, change orders, and estimates (Surveying). • Complete accurate daily, weekly, and monthly field reports (Field Reporting). • Promote and adhere to company safety policies and MSHA federal and state standards (Safety). • Apply basic engineering principles to resolve construction engineering issues. • Utilize surveying instruments such as total stations and rotation lasers. • Communicate effectively with clients, management, and production staff.

Familiarity with surveying instruments, proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, strong communication skills, and the ability to work underground in challenging conditions are essential. • Use Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD for project documentation and design.
