About the Role
The role centers on field observation and documentation of construction processes, sampling and testing various materials, and performing calculations, data reduction, and drafting of results. It also involves using screening equipment, interpreting maps and plans, and maintaining daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers, ultimately preparing the individual to act as the sole ECS representative on site. • Observe and document field activities related to the construction process. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement. • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results. • Use field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Interact and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites.

What You Bring
Candidates must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, and demonstrate a strong interest in how building materials are utilized in construction. The position requires the ability to lift 40‑70 lb repeatedly (occasionally up to 85 lb) and reliable transportation for site travel, with mileage reimbursed; relocation assistance is not provided.
