About the Role
The Lead Building Engineer ensures efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for the assigned facility, often serving as the sole on‑site engineer in the absence of a chief engineer. The role develops and executes maintenance tasks to maximize system life and reliability, monitors ongoing projects, and provides regular operational reports to management. Work is performed in a professional office and production facility environment, may require shift work, on‑call duties, and rapid response to emergencies such as fire, evacuation, or equipment failures. • Perform daily operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. • Monitor maintenance activities and projects, and coordinate with external contractors. • Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, motor lubrication, lamp replacement, and equipment inspections. • Inspect, record, and diagnose critical systems including UPS, generators, and CRAC units. • Interpret one‑line electrical drawings and calculate heating/cooling loads. • Recommend and implement improvements to the preventive maintenance program. • Maintain inventory control of parts and supplies. • Respond immediately to emergencies (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and client concerns. • Compile and submit monthly building operations reports to management. • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, company directives, and safe work practices.

What You Bring
• Complete required C&W safety training and adhere to uniform dress code. • Possess a high school diploma or GED; apprenticeship or trade school graduation preferred. • Minimum 5 years experience operating MEP systems in commercial properties. • Hold appropriate trade license/permit (Journeyman/Master Electrician, City licenses, Operator’s license). • Certified under EPA Section 608 universal certification for CFC/HFC refrigerants. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word. • Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, UPS, generators, and energy management systems.
