About the Role

The Pipe Welder performs high‑quality welding on carbon‑steel piping systems for commercial construction and mechanical projects. This role supports installation of HVAC, plumbing, and process piping by delivering safe, precise, and efficient welds using various welding processes in line with project specifications and industry standards. • Weld carbon‑steel pipe and structural components using SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW as required. • Follow supervisor instructions and adhere to job specifications, drawings, and blueprints. • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools safely. • Prepare pipe surfaces by grinding, beveling, aligning, and cleaning. • Perform tack welding and basic fitting to support installation teams. • Conduct visual weld inspections, identify defects, and make adjustments. • Maintain full compliance with safety standards, wear required PPE, and attend safety meetings. • Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard‑free. • Assist pipefitters, helpers, and other field personnel when welding tasks are inactive. • Collaborate with foremen and project teams to ensure efficient workflow and high‑quality installation. • Produce quality welds on carbon steel using TIG, Stick, or MIG processes as needed. • Read and interpret welding symbols, layout instructions, and simple isometric drawings.

What You Bring

• Minimum three years of welding experience in commercial or industrial environments. • Knowledge of pipe welding fundamentals and basic structural welding. • Physically capable of lifting 50 lb, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated spaces. • Willingness to take and pass required weld tests. • OSHA 10 certification preferred; prior mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing piping experience a plus. • Exposure to TIG welding on stainless steel beneficial but not required.
