About the Role

The Handyperson in the Maintenance department reports to the Property Manager or Building Superintendent and is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe building environment, performing routine repairs and grounds upkeep, securing the property, and responding to emergency maintenance issues. Additional duties include following instructions, managing supplies, and performing on‑call emergency work as needed. • Monitor building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation and environment • Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and related maintenance using hand tools • Follow all written and verbal instructions • Store supplies in appropriate areas • Conduct grounds maintenance, including mowing, shrub trimming, flower bed cultivation, and snow/ice/debris removal • Remove trash and dispose of it in designated areas • Keep tools and equipment clean, orderly, and safe • Secure the building during and after jobs; report security violations to management • Report major repair needs to the supervisor • Immediately report and repair emergency maintenance problems or environmental hazards • Adhere to company policies, especially health and safety procedures • Perform emergency on‑call duties as required • Interact with residents and handle complaints with discretion • Use hand tools for maintenance, landscaping, and construction • Operate power tools such as circular saw, power drill, bench grinder, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, floor cleaner, carpet shampoo machine, drain cleaner, chainsaw, and key machine

What You Bring

• Function indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions • Perform medium to heavy physical work, including prolonged standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 100 lb (frequent lifts up to 50 lb) • Maintain good eye‑hand coordination • High School diploma or equivalent preferred (not required) • 1–2 years of maintenance or construction supervision experience preferred • Possess basic knowledge of janitorial procedures • Hold ALC lead‑paint certification
