About the Role
The role offers the opportunity to grow the power market, build client confidence, mentor junior engineers, develop skills alongside senior staff, and serve as a trusted technical partner. The Electrical Engineer (Power) will execute the electrical engineering scope on moderate to large industrial projects, leading design efforts, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, managing technical aspects, and ensuring successful delivery through all design and construction phases, including work on micro‑grid facilities, MCC and switchgear, power distribution, substations, grounding systems, and power system studies. • Lead moderate to large electrical power and controls projects, providing technical direction and decision‑making. • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary design teams to produce high‑quality construction documents. • Develop power and controls drawings, specifications, equipment selection, and supporting documentation. • Perform engineering calculations, studies (arc flash, short‑circuit, load flow, coordination), detailed designs, reports, and design reviews. • Design and support high, medium, and low voltage systems, switchgear, MCCs, drives, emergency power, service entrances, and distribution. • Manage project scope changes, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies. • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, vendors, and contractors. • Provide field support during front‑end engineering and construction as needed.

What You Bring
Lake Superior Consulting is expanding and seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Power) to support multi‑disciplinary projects in the energy sector across several U.S. locations, with remote candidates also considered. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience. • Experience designing industrial electrical systems and supporting industrial facilities. • Proficiency with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, API, AGA practices; skilled in SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower. • Familiarity with AutoDesk software; CadWorx Electrical a plus. • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license, arc‑flash hazard analysis experience, field support during FEED and construction, broad power and controls background. • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, prioritize, and drive projects from conception to implementation. • Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, written, verbal, and presentation skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to fast‑paced environments, and meet tight deadlines.
