About the Role

The role sits in the Chief Infrastructure Office of a semi‑state organisation in Ireland, overseeing high‑voltage station, circuit, upgrade and refurbishment projects on the transmission network. You will manage projects from concept through feasibility, statutory planning, consent and hand‑over for detailed design and construction. The position blends office‑based work with site visits across the network. You will champion Mace’s “Safety first” ethos by modelling visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned and using our HSW framework to protect staff wellbeing. You will apply deep knowledge of local health and safety regulations and foster a diverse, inclusive environment that supports team welfare. You will maintain quality systems aligned with service excellence, delivering project plans from inception through design, procurement and construction in line with program milestones. You will coordinate tasks and deliverables with senior project managers and client teams to ensure timely, accurate project delivery. You will manage project budgets, identify risks and propose mitigations, while contributing to the long‑term development of your function or business unit. You will uphold Mace’s values by making a positive impact for people, clients and the planet and holding others accountable. You will lead design and consultant teams collaboratively to fulfil responsibilities and meet strategic KPI targets. You will actively network and draw on Mace’s centres of excellence, knowledge hub and control centre to apply best‑practice solutions. • Introduce innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of working. • Apply commercial awareness to make informed project decisions and recommendations. • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships throughout project lifecycles.

What You Bring

Within our consulting business we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential of every project. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree or technical equivalent and at least four years’ experience managing large infrastructure projects, with strong project‑management and power‑systems knowledge. They can convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, drive innovative solutions, and possess excellent organisational, communication, commercial and analytical skills, as well as a full driver’s licence. Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, IEI) and proven commercial and financial acumen are desirable. Experience working in large, diverse teams, building stakeholder relationships and understanding carbon‑sustainability impacts on projects will be valued. • Hold an engineering degree or technical equivalent with at least four years’ experience managing large infrastructure projects and power‑systems. • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences. • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, proficient in English. • Possess strong analytical and IT capabilities. • Maintain a full driver’s licence. • Hold membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE, IEI). • Exhibit commercial and financial acumen. • Experience working within large, diverse project teams. • Understand carbon and sustainability considerations shaping project outcomes.
