About the Role

The Team Lead/Technical Director for S+R will build best‑in‑class practice, drive the community of practice, provide technical leadership, and ensure high‑performance delivery while supervising staff and overseeing project budgets and forecasts. • Partner with stakeholders to build a network of technical and subject‑matter experts. • Create and execute mentoring, succession and communication strategies for knowledge sharing. • Drive the S+R community of practice, fostering high performance and innovation. • Provide effective team management, CPD coordination, and technical leadership. • Develop and maintain project delivery tools, standards, best practices, and digital workflows. • Lead quality initiatives, conduct design quality reviews, and improve technical compliance. • Oversee complex project design, offering expertise and design oversight. • Recruit, retain and develop top talent, positioning HDR as the market leader. • Supervise staff, address personnel issues, delegate responsibilities and mentor employees. • Coordinate workload and staffing with project managers and electrical team leads. • Monitor utilization, budgets and forecasts, ensuring clear communication of scope and deliverables. • Support business‑class forecasting and assist with electrical project proposals. • Structure training, succession planning and quality control activities across the practice. • Conduct technical audits, maintain registers and manage in‑house technical documentation. • Perform engineering activities, acting as discipline lead or delegate as needed.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with 7+ years of experience. • Proven leadership on large, multi‑discipline, complex building projects. • Recognized technical expert with industry awards, publications or society involvement. • Strong communication, listening, organizational and leadership skills. • Professional registration, license or certification as required. • Active participation in employee‑owned culture and DEI initiatives.
