Job Highlights
About the Role
WM drivers safely operate heavy‑duty trucks on transfer routes, complying with OSHA, DOT, and company standards while maintaining a clean, safe vehicle. They perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using DVIRs, report unsafe situations, and follow route assignments, completing required documentation. Drivers collaborate with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiency, handle customer requests, dump and position containers properly, and submit tickets for excess yardage. They communicate incidents, accidents, or property damage promptly. • Operate heavy‑duty truck safely on transfer routes, adhering to OSHA, DOT, and company policies. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR forms. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Follow assigned routes, dump and position containers correctly, and keep customer sites clean. • Communicate customer requests and issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Assist other drivers and participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Contribute to WM’s sustainability mission as part of the largest waste‑management and recycling fleet in North America.

What You Bring
The position requires a Commercial Driver’s License (Class B), age 18+, an acceptable driving record, and successful completion of a DOT drug screen, physical, background check, and motor‑vehicle record review. No prior experience or formal education is required. • Maintain a valid CDL‑B, meet age and driving‑record requirements, and pass DOT drug, physical, and background screenings.

The role offers a $2,000 sign‑on bonus (not eligible for rehires within 365 days) and a schedule starting at 6 am, Tuesday through Friday. One year of CDL experience is preferred.
