About the Role
The Project Engineer will handle project engineering duties such as daily reporting, quantity tracking, schedule management, budget updates, correspondence logs, and requests for information. • Interpret design drawings for superintendents and foremen in the field. • Coordinate with project manager and site supervision to resolve drawing conflicts and errors. • Perform drafting, digitizing, mapping, graphical presentations, and quantity takeoffs to support construction work and estimates. • Provide survey control lines and elevations for accurate grading and material installation. • Distribute current drawings to appropriate parties and maintain an updated drawing log. • Administer FTP site or similar system for drawing transfer and maintenance between owner, subcontractors, and prime contractor. • Track production across all project phases and generate weekly production reports. • Prepare and distribute status reports, punch lists, sketches, material calculations, and project meeting documents. • Verify completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications. • Lead project meetings in the project manager’s absence. • Assist with budgeting, phase coding, initial invoice review, and preparation of monthly billings. • Schedule equipment and materials and create time‑and‑material timesheets for client approval. • Support budget cost transfer requests, cost‑to‑complete projections, and new project budget creation. • Coordinate change order documentation and collaborate with estimating to prepare draft hard‑dollar estimates.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. • Minimum one year of project engineering experience in a construction environment (or relevant co‑op). • Preferred experience in coal ash remediation/CCR. • Experience with job costing, scheduling, and estimating contract changes (preferred). • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent modeling software. • Able to organize multiple information streams, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
