About the Role
The role involves physical design of substations, preparing reports, specifications and drawing packages, reviewing and approving project submittals and RFIs, supporting field activities during construction, and providing technical support to multiple Westwood projects and day‑to‑day assistance to internal and external project managers. • Design physical layouts for utility‑scale substations supporting power delivery, solar, and wind applications. • Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and drawing packages. • Review and approve project submittals and RFIs; support construction field activities. • Provide technical support across multiple Westwood projects and assist project managers daily. • Apply IEEE, ANSI, and NESC codes and standards in design work. • Utilize MS Office tools for documentation and communication. • Ensure meticulous attention to detail and quality in own and peer work. • Exercise sound engineering judgment and effective time‑management. • Preferred: Develop one‑line, three‑line, AC/DC, alarm, communication schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules. • Preferred: Create equipment and construction specifications.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, be familiar with IEEE, ANSI and NESC codes, possess strong MS Office skills, effective verbal and technical writing abilities, attention to detail, sound engineering judgment, and effective time‑management. Preferred qualifications include 1‑2 years of relevant experience, EIT/FE certification (or ability to obtain within a year), experience developing various schematics and performing load, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations, as well as drafting experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation and ability to develop equipment and construction specifications. • Demonstrate strong verbal communication and technical writing abilities. • Preferred: 1‑2 years relevant experience and EIT/FE certification or ability to obtain within one year. • Preferred: Perform AC/DC load, voltage drop, and conduit fill calculations. • Preferred: Use AutoCAD or MicroStation for drafting.
