About the Role
As part of our Canadian portfolio, Boralex is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Advisor. Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Director, you will facilitate the development and implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety (H&S) Management System to achieve operational objectives and the pursuit of zero incidents. You will advise, guide, and influence operations managers and workers in line with legal requirements and the organization’s H&S policies, helping them develop proactive safety behaviours. • Support development and implementation of the H&S strategic plan with the H&S department and operational leadership. • Provide guidance and act as a role model for workers, supervisors, and managers in implementing processes and procedures. • Conduct regular site visits to coach staff, inspect, and audit for regulatory compliance. • Assist site managers and supervisors in updating risk assessments and control measures. • Collaborate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions. • Monitor implementation of corrective actions on site with managers. • Maintain oversight of project progress and achievement of H&S objectives across sites. • Track legal changes and communicate them for field implementation. • Participate in developing, updating, and managing H&S programs and initiatives. • Serve on committees such as the Joint Health and Safety Committee. • Prepare and deliver routine H&S reports and communications. • Acquire new H&S skills by participating in innovative projects within an international team. • Propose and implement innovative occupational health and safety solutions. • Contribute to the energy transition and sustainable growth.

What You Bring
To succeed, you should hold a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Engineering or a related field, have 7–10 years of relevant experience, and possess in‑depth knowledge of H&S legal requirements and standards. Experience in renewable energy or oil and gas is a significant asset. Strong collaboration, independent work capability, analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills are essential, as is a willingness to travel up to 40‑50 % and work at heights on wind turbines with a valid driver’s license. • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or related field. • 7–10 years of relevant experience. • Experience in renewable energy or oil and gas industry is a significant asset. • In‑depth knowledge of H&S legal requirements and standards. • Strong collaboration and customer‑service orientation. • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and engage multiple stakeholders. • Results‑focused change agent with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. • Excellent communication and coaching skills. • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 40‑50% on site) and work at heights, including wind turbines. • Valid driver’s license.
