About the Role

The High Voltage Electrician/Terminator is responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining medium/high voltage electric power cables and equipment, with opportunities to learn electrical testing and high voltage maintenance. Key duties include performing terminations and cable splicing on 5 kV and higher distribution systems, installing power feeds and making land connections, opening high‑voltage switches, grounding equipment, assisting with installation and maintenance of transformers, capacitors, insulators, lightning arrestors, switches, circuit breakers, locating failed cables, and working on hot lines when required, all in compliance with OSHA, national, and site‑specific safety procedures. • Perform terminations and repairs on medium/high voltage (5 kV+) distribution systems. • Splice medium voltage cables. • Install power feeds and make land connections to transformers, junction boxes, switchgear, and switches. • Open high‑voltage switches, test for voltage, and apply grounding devices for safety. • Assist with installation and maintenance of transformers, capacitors, insulators, lightning arrestors, switches, and circuit breakers. • Locate and repair failed cables; work on hot lines using appropriate equipment when needed. • Follow OSHA, national, and site‑specific safety procedures.

What You Bring

Candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check, be able to work overtime and travel, climb ladders, stand for long periods, lift 70 lb, hold a valid driver’s license, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications include NETA certification, an electrical degree or military experience, manufacturer certifications, a journeyman electrician license, familiarity with Megger, Hi‑Pot, VLF, Thumper, TDR testing equipment, and knowledge of testing transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers. • Pass pre‑employment drug screening and criminal background check. • Ability to work overtime, travel, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift 70 lb. • Valid driver’s license with good driving record. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Preferred: NETA certification. • Preferred: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electrical Technology or military experience. • Preferred: Journeyman Electrician License. • Preferred: Manufacturer certifications (3M, Richards, Hubbell). • Familiarity with Megger, Hi‑Pot, VLF, Thumper, and TDR testing equipment. • Knowledge of testing transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
