About the Role

The Technical Professional – Heat Exchanger Design is independently responsible for developing design, specification, selection and services relating to shell & tube heat exchangers, air coolers, reboilers, and similar equipment. The role performs all conventional aspects of the functional area with minimal guidance and provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors is required, and the position may involve global travel and short‑term assignments supporting projects. Key responsibilities include thermal‑hydraulic design calculations and performance analysis of heat exchangers using HTRI, as well as basic mechanical design calculations with PV Elite to generate thermal datasheets and define plan and tube layouts for shell‑and‑tube and air‑cooled exchangers. The role also prepares datasheets and requisitions, conducts technical bid evaluations, reviews vendor documentation, and provides inspection support for various heat‑transfer equipment such as shell‑and‑tube, air‑cooled, plate, and multitube exchangers. A solid understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., TEMA, ASME, API) applicable to pressure equipment is required. • Perform thermal‑hydraulic design calculations and analysis of heat exchangers using HTRI. • Conduct basic mechanical design calculations with PV Elite to create thermal datasheets and define plan and tube layouts. • Prepare datasheets and requisitions, evaluate technical bids, and review vendor documents. • Provide inspection support for various heat‑transfer equipment, including shell‑and‑tube, air‑cooled, plate, and multitube exchangers. • Apply major industry codes and standards such as TEMA, ASME, and API to pressure equipment designs. • Offer technical guidance to junior designers and engineers. • Travel globally for short‑term assignments supporting KBR or client project sites.
