About the Role
The Field Sales Consultant role is a field‑based position that self‑generates sales leads and delivers in‑home presentations on Sunrun’s solar products and services. The primary goal is to build genuine, human connections with homeowners and assess solar as a viable energy solution for their families. If you enjoy face‑to‑face interaction, engaging customers, and working outdoors, this role is designed for you. Consultants develop effective, self‑generated sales strategies, guide customers through the sales process from initial contact to system activation, and manage the pipeline of prospects to installations. They conduct in‑home sales presentations, evaluate customer needs, and accurately record outcomes in our CRM system. What You Bring
Candidates should have at least one year of sales or lead‑generation experience, with in‑home sales preferred, and must be at least 21 years old with a valid, clean driver’s license. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating across functions to address customer needs. Flexibility to travel within the local market and work evenings or weekends to accommodate homeowners’ schedules is required. Comfort with technology, such as using an iPad and multiple software applications, is also expected. • Minimum 1 year sales or lead‑generation experience; in‑home sales preferred. • Must be 21+, hold a clean driver’s license and pass background check. • Strong communication, teamwork, and tech proficiency (iPad/CRM).
