About the Role

This is a six‑month fixed‑term position with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities span maintenance operations—including managing reactive and proactive work orders, monitoring progress, reviewing contractor quotes, conducting audits, and ensuring data accuracy in the Work Order Management System—and contractor management such as onboarding, compliance with WHS and asset standards, performance reviews, and risk management. • Manage and triage reactive and proactive work orders • Monitor work order progress to ensure timely, on‑budget completion • Review contractor quotes and completion timeframes • Conduct audits of maintenance activities • Maintain data accuracy in the Work Order Management System (WOMS) • Review and endorse claims for proactive and reactive work orders • Support onboarding and off‑boarding of contractors • Ensure contractor compliance with WHS and asset standards • Participate in Contractor Performance Review Meetings • Maintain contractor risk management

The role is pivotal in managing work requests, issuing work orders to contractors, and supporting the Facility Maintenance Manager in delivering maintenance operations for NSW Public Schools and Department of Education facilities. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field, strong customer service and communication skills, excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to multitask, and proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
