About the Role

The Sr. Project Manager leads stand‑alone multi‑craft, joint‑venture or EPC projects up to $200 million, overseeing safety, quality, and all project controls. The role directs engineering, technology providers, and JV partners while being accountable for labor, material, scope, client interaction, and overall execution across all disciplines. • Oversee site management team (Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, etc.) • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions • Communicate project issues with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors • Champion corporate safety plan and develop site‑specific safety plan • Review completion status and schedule progress; identify and resolve productivity problems • Review work plans, work packages, and ensure timely quality documentation • Coach superintendents to keep average labor rates below estimates • Review and train all craft and staff on Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) • Lead jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training sessions • Schedule material deliveries and monitor procurement status • Plan, schedule, and coordinate on‑site work groups • Review material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and contract documents • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations • Review and approve submittals, transmittals, purchase orders, and subcontracts • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations • Maintain project records, daily reports, RFIs, photographs, and other contract correspondence • Develop and track project controls (productivity, labor rates, equipment schedule, risk and opportunity logs) • Contribute to master schedule creation and maintenance • Negotiate and approve change orders to the prime contract • Drive planning process through detailed schedules and manpower curves • Assist with accounting, job cost, and work‑in‑progress updates • Lead budgeting by converting estimates to standard phase codes • Forecast project costs and cash flow; identify trends and corrective actions • Prepare schedule of values and invoices for the customer • Recruit and hire project staff using the established requisition process • Approve equipment purchases and rentals • Manage, mentor, and lead direct reports (10+), overseeing up to 500+ employees • Provide constructability reviews and cost‑saving alternatives

What You Bring

Success in this position requires a thorough understanding of industry best practices and codes, and the ability to interface with clients, engineering/design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project management to communicate project status and resolve issues. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management • Possess at least 11 years of heavy‑industrial construction experience (fossil power, mining, metals, etc.) • Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and relevant regulations • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contracts • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ethics, integrity, and passion for safety • Willingness to travel extensively and relocate for 6‑12 month project assignments • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts in physically demanding environments and adverse weather • Must use personal protective equipment and be able to work at heights

Based anywhere in the United States, the role involves up to 75% travel, with assignments lasting 8‑18 months on average.
