About the Role

• Develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical competencies of Business Group staff to meet client needs and market drivers. • Assist with daily operations, including project oversight, management reviews, financials, and driving project‑level profitability. • Supervise key cross‑sector leads to ensure groups provide critical value, growth, delivery, or risk reduction through in‑house specialties. • Lead and monitor development and training of area staff in technical and business competencies. • Collaborate with market sector leads on workload projections and coordinate workload sharing across Business Groups or Areas. • Lead quality‑assurance efforts to implement QA/QC program activities and pursue continuous improvement. • Monitor project QC review activities, assigning experienced and qualified reviewers. • Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives by developing and applying technical standards, procedures, best practices, and lessons learned. • Participate in project reviews and support teams with claims and loss management, including 0%25 reviews. • Review hiring needs, requisitions, and offers as delegated by the Business Group Manager. • Engage in key pursuit teaming, staffing discussions, and fee development. • Partner with Market Sector Leaders and the Project Delivery Leader. • Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution in collaboration with subject‑matter experts. • Streamline and coordinate business processes with the Business Group Manager, aligning with corporate policy and MOA. • Ensure implementation of quality, standards, and best practices. • Collaborate with Area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders. • Review and approve fee proposals as delegated by the Business Group Manager. • Support communication and coordination across all business groups. • Work closely with the Area Professional Services Lead.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 15 years' experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Knowledge of the local market. • Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field. • Minimum of 10 years' experience. • Maintain a professional or engineering registration and related technical experience. • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams; commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values. • Active engagement in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand. • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors, and marketing managers. • Attitude and commitment to actively participating in HDR's employee‑owned culture.
