About the Role

In this position you will be responsible for leading project‑management commissions, supervising and developing Project Managers and graduates, coordinating internal team meetings and ensuring all management information is signed off. You will act as the primary client interface, manage design, tender and construction contracts, drive business‑development opportunities, and oversee project finances, resources and fee proposals while supporting chartership and recruitment activities. • Lead delivery of project‑management commissions across all project phases. • Supervise, motivate and provide training for Project Managers, assistants, graduates and apprentices. • Coordinate internal AECOM team meetings and ensure sign‑off of management information before issue. • Develop and maintain strong client relationships as the main interface. • Manage design processes, tender documentation, appraisals and contract negotiations. • Formulate and administer construction contracts throughout delivery. • Pursue business‑development and cross‑selling opportunities with existing and new clients. • Oversee project finances, resourcing, audits and portfolio cost control. • Prepare fee proposals and support professional chartership of team members. • Participate in recruitment, retention and ongoing training initiatives.

What You Bring

The Senior Project Manager role is based in our Cambridge or Norfolk office and requires consultancy or client‑organisation experience in sectors such as Higher Education, Healthcare, Life Sciences or Defence. You will lead medium‑to‑large projects with minimal support, working as part of an integrated team under a Director and covering the full project lifecycle from business case through design, procurement, delivery, commissioning and defect management. We are looking for candidates with a qualified degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying and chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or an equivalent body. Experience in consultancy, a strong understanding of construction parties, contracts and CDM 2015, and proven work in Life Sciences, Tertiary Education or Defence construction are essential. • Hold a degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying. • Possess chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or an equivalent institution.
