About the Role
The Field Engineer will oversee and execute project controls and management across multiple disciplines, providing direct support to a Craft Superintendent and handling quantity collection, scheduling, contract administration, procurement, and reporting. • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions. • Deliver required contract reports on a weekly, monthly, and scheduling basis. • Adhere to corporate and site‑specific safety plans and actively participate in safety meetings. • Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and percentage completion assessments. • Create, review, and manage work plans and work packages. • Ensure site quality plan execution, timely inspections, and proper documentation for turnover. • Manage daily labor timesheets and calculate the average labor rate for supervision. • Train craft and staff on Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and lead toolbox and mass safety meetings. • Coordinate material orders, schedule deliveries, and produce procurement status reports. • Plan, schedule, and direct onsite work groups and subcontractor activities. • Conduct basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations. • Prepare purchase orders, subcontracts, and material buyout takeoffs from construction drawings. • Supervise subcontractor performance and provide field support as needed. • Maintain comprehensive project records, including daily reports, photos, RFIs, submittals, and memoranda. • Develop and monitor project controls such as productivity tracking, equipment schedules, and risk logs. • Maintain the master project schedule and generate change orders and as‑built data for review. • Assist the Project Manager with budgeting, cost forecasting, and cash‑flow management. • Prepare schedule of values and invoice customers in accordance with contract terms. • Lead and support crews of up to 50 personnel and mentor junior Field Engineers. • Ensure compliance with prime contract provisions, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

What You Bring
This role is fully mobile, allowing the engineer to be based anywhere in the United States and required to travel up to 100% of the time, typically spending 8‑18 months on a project site with per‑diem, mobilization support and a longer weekend every four weeks. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Possess 3–5 years of field engineering or similar experience, preferably in industrial settings. • Demonstrate ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contracts. • Be willing to travel up to 90% and relocate for extended project durations (6–12 months). • Meet physical demands including lifting up to 50 lb, working in varied weather, and using personal protective equipment.
