About the Role
The position involves performing carpentry and finishing tasks related to concrete work, including constructing formwork, installing rebar, and applying finishes. The employee must follow plans and specifications, ensure compliance with Turner standards and safety regulations, and actively participate in daily pre‑task planning and PPE use. • Interpret scopes of work, plans, and specifications to complete assignments. • Construct and remove formwork for structural, tilt‑up, and paving concrete, including job‑built forms, reveals, chamfers, and pour stops. • Read blueprints and building plans to determine dimensions and material requirements. • Establish grades and elevations using a builder’s level for concrete work. • Erect scaffolding and ladders for above‑ground assembly. • Build forms and chutes for concrete placement. • Install protection systems, block‑outs, and sleeves in forms. • Set and tie rebar as needed. • Prepare and install metal embeds, bolts, and accessories for casting. • Create provisions for keyways and waterproofing applications. • Mix bagged concrete for small placements following manufacturer instructions. • Chip, scrape, and grind high spots to achieve desired concrete finish using pneumatic chisels, grinders, or hand tools. • Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactors, and construction hoist. • Ensure trade employees, subcontractors, and vendors comply with Turner standards, safety codes, and site security. • Follow work instructions, safety signage, and inspect tools before use. • Participate in daily Pre‑Task Plans, select appropriate equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and wear proper PPE. • Secure equipment and work areas during operations. • Identify, communicate, and escalate issues to supervisor promptly. • Track production of completed tasks. • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.

What You Bring
This role is classified under the SPO division and is based in Monroe, LA (71201). It is a regular, non‑union trade position within the trade job family, requiring no specific degree. Travel is limited to 10‑20%. The job demands physical stamina, including constant standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, and work in varied weather and noisy construction environments. Reasonable accommodations are provided, and the employee must adhere to all safety policies and environmental requirements. • Minimum 3 years of concrete and carpentry experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Skilled in concrete placing and finishing for walls, columns, slabs, and paving. • Proficient with carpentry tools (circular saws, squares, tape measure, hammer, etc.). • Proficient with finishing tools (vibrators, hand trowels, trowel machine, bull floats, hand floats, straightedges, edger, hand level). • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools for building structures, foundations, and framing. • Ability to read and interpret construction contract documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules. • Competent in using related tools to complete assignments. • Ability to apply arithmetic and basic geometry, measure accurately, and convey dimensions. • Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and judgment skills. • Capable of taking direction, working independently with minimal supervision, and collaborating in a team. • Effective active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and professional interaction at all levels. • Physical ability to meet the described demands.
