About the Role
Reporting to the Signal Supervisor, the Signal Assistant supports project work and maintenance operations. The role is physically demanding, performed outdoors near live track during day and night, and in all weather conditions. • Perform general labor tasks, including operating equipment. • Maintain tools and equipment in ready‑for‑service condition. • Execute special duties assigned by the Signal Supervisor or Maintainers. • Collaborate with Signal Maintainers on project and maintenance work. • Follow railway and PNR safety practices and signal procedures. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Use protective equipment; work is safety‑sensitive.

What You Bring
• 1–2 years of field electrical experience. • Hold a valid G class driver’s license. • Experience in project work or construction/farm environments. • Mechanically inclined to repair small gas engines. • Experience with heavy equipment (backhoe, skid steer) or cranes/boom trucks (asset). • Diploma in Electrical Technology/Technician (asset, not required). • Exposure to live track, trains, and high voltage. • Travel to various work sites is required.
