About the Role
The Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The role also requires ensuring the vehicle complies with the company’s safety standards before operation, adhering to all company, state, and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any defects promptly. Drivers must perform thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order, reporting any safety issues on standard forms. They must operate the truck along assigned routes, read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as directed, using manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and dispose of refuse at the designated facility. Interaction with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers must be courteous and professional to ensure timely service. Drivers are required to identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers, monitor waste for unacceptable material, clean accidental spills in accordance with safety standards, and continuously monitor vehicle condition, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. The position also involves completing route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports while meeting departmental productivity standards. Drivers must follow all safety policies, actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program, and perform other job‑related duties as assigned, demonstrating strong customer service, time management, and adherence to company policies.

Minimum qualifications include a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brakes endorsement. The pay range for this role is $20.35 to $28.00 per hour, varying by locality.
