Construction Materials Internship (Level 1)
Assist with field testing and documentation of construction materials on project sites.

About the Role
In this role you will observe and document construction field activities, conduct sampling and testing of various materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel, and perform calculations and data reduction of test results while drafting reports. You will operate field screening equipment, record readings, read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. Daily interaction with contractors, technicians, and project managers will be essential, and you will become the sole representative of ECS on project sites. • Observe and document construction field activities • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel • Perform calculations, data reduction, and drafting of test results • Operate field screening equipment and record readings • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites • Provide reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed)

What You Bring
We seek candidates actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, with a strong interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the physical ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height, as well as reliable transportation to job sites (mileage will be reimbursed).
