About the Role
The software engineering team builds the proprietary CRM that supports CoStar’s sales organization, combining native mobile, data, API/platform, and front‑end expertise. The Lead Software Engineer will guide design, standards, and code quality while delivering customer‑facing web applications and microservices. The role is based in Richmond, VA, with a Monday‑Thursday office schedule and optional remote work on Friday. • Build customer‑facing web applications using React and TypeScript. • Build microservices and RESTful APIs with C# and .NET Core. • Drive and lead software design, develop standards, and perform code reviews for an efficient, maintainable code base. • Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices for strengthening CoStar’s platform. • Develop comprehensive application testing procedures to ensure high‑quality applications for tens of thousands of users.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in‑person college or university. • 8+ years of software development experience with object‑oriented programming languages. • Experience architecting, designing, and building large‑scale distributed, service‑oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment. • Experience building RESTful APIs using C#. • Proficient with Git version control. • Familiarity with CI/CD deployment processes. • Proven track record of commitment to prior employer. • Experience with SQL. • Experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch. • Strong communication skills with both business and technical partners. • Data modeling experience from conceptual through physical designs.
