About the Role

The Mechanical Engineer – Current Products will design and support mechanical systems, motors, and actuators within Kollmorgen's existing product portfolio. The role includes leading concept generation, analysis, and validation of mechanical features, collaborating closely with electromagnetic design teams, and interacting directly with customers while managing three to five concurrent projects. • Develop mechanical concepts and perform structural (FEA), thermal, dynamic, and motion system analyses. • Lead internal and customer‑facing design reviews, negotiate specifications, and communicate design intent. • Create detailed CAD models, assembly/layout drawings, Bills of Materials, and engineering change requests. • Validate designs through testing to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. • Provide technical support to customers and assist field service personnel as needed. • Support sales efforts by evaluating RFQs, estimating BOMs, and preparing proposal drawings and technical content.

What You Bring

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, minimum 2 years of design experience, proficiency in solid‑modeling CAD software. • Preferred: Master’s degree, experience with mechanical FEA and advanced analysis techniques, familiarity with motion systems and actuator design. • Eligibility restricted to U.S. Persons in accordance with federal export control laws.
