About the Role

The Transmission Line Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) role supports HDR’s mission to make great things possible in local communities and around the globe, aligning with the company’s story and values. The EIT will coordinate construction release packages for high‑voltage transmission lines, manage multiple project tasks while monitoring schedules and budgets, and conduct site visits during design, construction, and as‑built phases. Additional responsibilities include performing QA/QC on the work of other team members, traveling as needed, and handling other duties assigned by supervisors. • Prepare construction release packages for high‑voltage transmission lines, including plans, profiles, load trees, assemblies, stringing charts, foundation schedules, and bills of material. • Manage multiple project tasks while monitoring schedule and budget constraints. • Conduct site visits during design, construction, and as‑built phases and participate in field reviews. • Perform QA/QC on work of Project Coordinators, Designers, and BIM Technicians. • Apply industry design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI. • Use PLS‑CADD for structural analysis and produce specifications, drawings, and engineering documents. • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including environmental, real‑estate, construction, maintenance, substation, telecommunications, and project management teams.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, possess an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certificate, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, while demonstrating an attitude and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering. • Possess an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification. • Bring 3+ years of transmission line engineering experience in utilities or renewables. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
