About the Role

The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical components of surface mining equipment in line with defined specifications, as well as commissioning new equipment and delivering training at customer sites. Key duties include inspecting equipment for performance issues, adjusting or replacing faulty parts, testing repaired units, commissioning new machines, participating in continuous‑improvement initiatives, and producing accurate time records, technical reports, failure analyses, and parts lists. Environmental Health and Safety responsibilities require compliance with safety policies, reporting unsafe conditions, performing risk assessments before tasks, maintaining tools and a clean work area, attending safety training, and wearing the required personal protective equipment. • Inspect mining equipment to identify performance issues and faults. • Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components. • Test serviced equipment to ensure proper operation before release. • Commission new machinery and provide on‑site training for customers. • Document work through accurate time logs, technical and failure reports. • Engage in continuous‑improvement projects and share best practices. • Perform safety risk assessments and adhere to all EHS protocols. • Maintain tools and work area to meet safety and housekeeping standards.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Red Seal certification, have at least three years of experience with mining equipment, be proficient in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be computer literate (MS Office), hold a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel across Canada and work varied shifts. • Hold a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification with at least three years’ experience. • Demonstrate proficiency in reading hydraulic/electrical schematics and strong communication skills.
