About the Role
The Engineering Manager role will drive the delivery of a major 500 kV substation, expand technical leadership capabilities, and contribute to complex national infrastructure projects. The project involves constructing a new 500 kV terminal station in Western Victoria, integrating high‑voltage assets into the network. It includes primary and secondary system design for protection, control, and automation, supporting a critical regional grid development. The manager leads all design activities, overseeing internal engineers and external consultants to produce safe, cost‑effective, and compliant design packages. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the role partners with construction, estimating, and client stakeholders to guide multidisciplinary teams, manage design programs, and secure approvals. • Lead primary and secondary design delivery for the 500 kV terminal station. • Drive program control and track project milestones. • Oversee consultant performance, ensuring compliance and quality. • Improve constructability and apply value‑engineering solutions. • Govern Safety‑in‑Design and enforce design controls. • Resolve technical issues with stakeholders and secure approvals. • Lead multidisciplinary design teams.

What You Bring
• Hold an electrical engineering degree; chartered or near‑chartered status preferred. • Possess at least 10 years of high‑voltage substation experience with strong protection and control expertise.
