About the Role
Operators perform minor daily and weekly maintenance, including oiling machines, refilling fluids, checking filters, and general cleaning as part of a preventative maintenance program. The Fabricating Machine Operator is a skilled, hands‑on professional who sets up, tends, and maintains machines such as cutoff saws, shears, brakes, and punch presses that cut, shape, and bend metal plates and sheets. The role involves reading shop work orders, understanding bend allowances, thickness tolerances, and machine tonnage, and setting stops or guides to the required dimensions. A successful candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, with up to three months of related experience or equivalent training.
