About the Role

The role involves delivering concept studies, transport statements, assessments, travel plans, parking and access studies, and guiding projects through planning applications and post‑permission works. You will lead client and stakeholder engagement, maintain collaborative relationships, and ensure projects meet budget, programme, technical and legal requirements. • Provide day‑to‑day support for concept studies, transport statements, assessments, travel plans, parking and access studies, leading to planning applications and post‑permission works. • Lead proactive management and collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues and staff. • Establish and maintain effective client relationships based on technical competence and service excellence. • Stay current with standards and policies; raise WSP profile through networking and conference attendance. • Guide and support junior technical staff across various grades. • Engage in high‑profile client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison and overall project management. • Ensure projects are delivered within budget, programme, technical standards and legal requirements. • Deliver multidisciplinary services including site appraisal, due diligence, strategic planning advice, concept studies, transport statements/assessments, travel plans, parking demand studies, access studies, and movement & access studies.

What You Bring

We are looking for candidates with a numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related subject, significant experience delivering transport planning projects, and strong client‑facing and communication skills. Proficiency with junction modelling software, financial and programme management, line‑management experience, and progress towards Chartership are also required. • Hold a numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or a related discipline. • Experience as lead client contact for consultancy services with a track record of excellent client relationships. • Strong written communication and presentation skills supporting development proposals. • Knowledge of transport planning guidance, best practice and relevant standards. • Significant experience delivering transport planning projects across development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport, active travel and junction design. • Proficiency with junction modelling software (e.g., Junctions 9, PICADY, ARCADY, Linsig) and ability to mentor others. • High numeracy, problem‑solving ability and innovative thinking. • Proven financial and programme management of projects using appropriate business tools. • Experience in line management and day‑to‑day operational responsibilities. • Understanding of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding and project delivery. • Near‑Chartership or equivalent commercial experience.
