About the Role

• Prepare bridge designs using hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software under supervision. • Produce technical sketches, drawings, specifications, and reports under guidance of senior engineers. • Assist with inspections of existing bridges and other structures. • Coordinate with other in‑house engineering disciplines as required. • Conduct condition assessments and site visits, including occasional short‑ to medium‑term field trips.

What You Bring

The company is hiring an entry‑level Structural Engineer for its Roanoke, VA office, with an immediate start. The role is hybrid, requiring regular on‑site presence in Roanoke, and involves working under experienced engineers on bridge and structural projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred). • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (preferred). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. • Familiarity with AASHTO codes and bridge engineering practices. • Experience using MicroStation, OpenBridge, or AutoCAD. • Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills; willing to travel periodically.
