About the Role
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on robotics and material handling equipment. • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, including motors, sensors, relays, and PLCs. • Assist with basic electronics and programmable logic controller (PLC) troubleshooting. • Move up to 49 lb, stand and walk up to 12‑hour shifts, climb ladders, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.

What You Bring
The Automation Engineering Apprentice (AEA) will learn to troubleshoot and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, and control cabinets. On‑the‑job learning includes working with high‑performance manufacturing systems, analyzing issues, and repairing equipment to keep processes efficient. Apprentices are paired with experienced journey workers and work across high‑automation and robotics facilities within the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering sector. They follow technical documents, adhere to safety regulations, and receive mentorship from senior technicians to develop their skills. The successful candidate is an effective communicator, self‑motivated, and able to collaborate with upstream and downstream partners. A flexible schedule is required, including possible weekends, nights, or holidays, and the ability to commute to the designated site. • Minimum 1 year RME Mechatronics & Robotics Technician experience and high school diploma or GED. • Complete a 12‑week training program and commit to a 2‑year onsite apprenticeship. • Experience with PLC‑controlled automation, robotics work cells, and ladder logic (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or Codesys) preferred. • Ability to read, modify, and develop mechanical and electrical drawings.
