What You Bring

Mortenson is currently seeking an ACE M+ Extern in our Denver office. Externs will have the opportunity to experience life on and off the construction project site with experience in the field as well as the office. Through a rotation, the program offers exposure to numerous field experiences at various exciting projects as well as several office‑based disciplines such as Virtual Design & Construction, Safety, Estimating, Project Accounting, Lean and others. You will work closely with an on‑site mentor and shadow people in several different roles and functions. Eligible candidates must be current ACE program participants considering a career in construction, engineering, or architecture, be at least 16 years old by the start date, and be pursuing a four‑year undergraduate degree in a related field. Candidates should maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, have the legal right to work in the U.S., and be able to handle typical construction site conditions. Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem‑solving skills, and a professional attitude are required. Compensation is hourly and varies by education level. • Eight‑week externship starting in mid‑June • Must be a current ACE program participant interested in construction, engineering, or architecture • Minimum age of 16 years by the start of the externship • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in construction management, civil, architectural, electrical, or related fields • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 • Legal right to work in the U.S. without reliance on a student visa • Ability to work in construction site conditions (dirt, heat, noise, dust, trailer office) • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem‑solving skills
