Job Highlights
About the Role
The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet the quality standards required by brokers or mills. This role is essential to maintaining the flow of recyclable material through the facility. • Sort and segregate recoverable materials such as aluminum, plastic, glass, and paper. • Deposit sorted materials safely and efficiently into the appropriate chute. • Assist other sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed. • Follow all company safety policies, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergencies. • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste and remove it. • Communicate with equipment operators about special waste loads.
