About the Role
The senior cost manager/quantity surveyor will be the primary client interface for a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre program, responsible for delivering cost‑management services that keep the project on time, on budget and to high standards, while upholding governance and stakeholder engagement. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries and funding data to stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors and vendors for validation and auditing. • Compile built cost records for benchmarking and continuous improvement. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation and commercial negotiations to secure fair contracts. • Manage final accounts and ensure timely agreement. • Own change control: review, estimate, negotiate and reconcile change orders and post‑contract cost variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management and commitment tracking. • Implement robust cost control systems, including Earned Value Management where applicable. • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, collaborating with project controls and scheduling teams. • Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact and lead value‑engineering and cost‑optimization initiatives. • Monitor market trends (escalation, labour availability, material pricing) and provide insights. • Act as primary client interface, delivering service excellence and meeting objectives. • Prepare executive‑level updates, written comments on contractor submissions and cost estimate revisions. • Ensure compliance with internal business management systems and delivery methodologies. • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance culture. • Manage financial performance, including margin tracking and monthly fee/resource forecasts. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring
The role requires strong client‑facing communication, independent and collaborative work, and leadership in promoting Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields, have 5‑7+ years of cost management experience in mission‑critical environments, preferably within construction consultancy, and possess expertise in MEP systems, budgeting, EVM and procurement; RICS accreditation is a plus.
