About the Role
Key duties include reading and interpreting blueprints, ISO field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and specifications. The role involves fabricating and installing screw pipe, socket‑weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, and stainless steel weld pipe, as well as mitering, beveling, and laying out pipe penetrations. Installation tasks cover pipe racks, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, steam and heat tracing, and proper bolting of pipe and valve flanges. Assistance to other craft workers is also expected. • Read and interpret blueprints, ISO installations, material takeoffs, and specifications. • Fabricate and install screw, socket‑weld, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld, and stainless steel weld pipe. • Miter, bevel, and lay out pipe penetrations. • Install piping in racks, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing. • Perform proper bolting of pipe and valve flanges of various sizes. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb) and operate hand/power tools. • Work on ladders, scaffolds, uneven or muddy terrain, and in confined spaces. • Maintain focus, make decisions, and ensure detail‑oriented work.

What You Bring
The Pipefitter must possess knowledge of test piping systems, oxygen and acetylene cutting, basic rigging, pneumatic and electric tool operation, and leak test‑tubing systems. They are required to learn all safety hazards related to the work and to use tools and equipment safely and effectively. Work will be performed in plant operations or on construction job sites. Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), use hand and power tools, climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and uneven terrain, and work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions. Repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs, as well as frequent bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting, are part of the job. Mental qualifications involve effective communication with management and supervision, reading and writing comprehension for directions and safety policies, and the ability to perform calculations. The worker must concentrate amid distractions, make decisions, and be detail‑oriented, remembering and observing critical details. • Communicate effectively, read/write directions, and perform calculations.
