About the Role

Key responsibilities include planning and implementing material, equipment, and inspection schedules to align with project timelines, reviewing construction and contract documents for completeness, and coordinating specifications with design engineers to resolve discrepancies. The superintendent will develop look‑ahead schedules, create site logistics plans, manage Mortenson tools and equipment, and collaborate with partner superintendents. Additionally, they will coach, supervise, and mentor assistant superintendents, foremen, and craft crews, conduct orientations and pre‑construction meetings, handle hiring and performance evaluations, and ensure safety, quality, risk, and compliance while driving process improvements. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support project timelines. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and manage three- and six‑week look‑ahead schedules and site logistics plans. • Manage utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment and collaborate with partner superintendents. • Coach, supervise, and develop assistant superintendents, foremen, and craft crews. • Conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and project meetings. • Hire, interview, transfer, and, when necessary, terminate craft team members. • Ensure accurate task coding on timecards and track work progress and productivity. • Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance, mitigating unfavorable conditions. • Identify and implement process and procedure improvements.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Erection Superintendent for its Wind Group who can interact with staff at all levels, remain flexible in an ever‑changing environment, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The role requires anticipating problems, creatively solving issues, and delivering excellent customer service while developing and enhancing client relationships. This position involves travel throughout the United States with regular three‑week rotations home and is not a Crane Superintendent role; candidates must understand wind‑tower construction and be able to coach teams toward leadership positions. Candidates should hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, or architectural engineering (or have ten years of trade experience), with a minimum of eight years in construction and at least two years in a supervisory role. Required skills include proficient Excel‑based planning, experience with rigging, torquing, tools, and cranes, and a background in managing large self‑perform projects; wind‑energy experience is preferred. Applicants must be detail‑oriented, possess a basic understanding of construction law, have intermediate Microsoft Office abilities, display a professional attitude, be willing to travel 100% with three‑week home rotations, and hold a current driver’s license. • Hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum eight years construction experience, including two years supervisory. • Proficient in Excel‑based planning and scheduling; experienced with offload and foundation scheduling. • Skilled in rigging, torquing, tool and crane operation; wind‑tower construction knowledge. • Experience managing large self‑perform projects; wind experience preferred. • Strong attention to detail and basic understanding of construction law. • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and professional customer‑service attitude. • Ability to travel 100% with three‑week home rotations; valid driver’s license.
