About the Role
The MEP Package Lead will oversee the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work from design through handover, ensuring alignment with project budgets and overall quality and safety goals. This role manages all MEP‑related activities and interfaces across the project lifecycle. In this capacity, the Lead will develop construction plans, coordinate design and procurement, supervise field teams, oversee financial aspects of the MEP scope, and provide progress reporting for invoicing and schedule integration. • Ensure construction complies with project agreements, quality, safety, environmental, and legislative standards. • Manage execution of the MEP work package from detailed design through construction, testing & commissioning, operation, and handover. • Prepare comprehensive construction plans covering equipment, materials, site teams, and supervision. • Direct field engineers and oversee daily construction activities. • Control the overall MEP budget, including procurement, materials, equipment, and labor costs. • Supply progress data for timely monthly invoicing to the City. • Coordinate MEP schedule with the overall project schedule and interfacing scopes. • Lead development and monitoring of detailed MEP working schedules. • Verify MEP activities meet contract and quality requirements. • Track and report Key Performance Indicators. • Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to the MEP scope.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and bring at least ten years of field construction experience, including leadership on two large MEP projects. Technical expertise in MEP systems, experience with LRT or tramway projects, strong project‑management skills, and excellent communication abilities are required, along with a valid Class 5 driver’s license. • Minimum 10 years of field construction experience with leadership on at least two large MEP projects. • Technical and operational knowledge of MEP systems and component specifications. • Experience organizing site forces for LRT or tramway MEP installations. • Proven project‑management expertise in developing construction plans, schedules, and multidisciplinary team interfaces. • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and negotiation skills. • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract. • Ability to work on varied terrain and in all Edmonton weather conditions.
