About the Role
The planner will manage environmental permitting for multiple projects, ranging from simple SEQR short forms to complex joint applications requiring approvals from several agencies. Responsibilities include tracking permit timelines, coordinating impact assessments such as SEQRA, conducting procedural requirements for EISs and EAs, and overseeing consultant deliverables for various environmental aspects. The role also involves participating in project meetings, preparing communications, and representing design and construction on environmental matters with federal and state agencies. • Complete environmental permitting for projects from SEQR short forms to joint applications with multiple agency approvals. • Track and coordinate permit timelines to meet project schedules and provide administrative support throughout all phases. • Conduct environmental impact assessments, including SEQRA, and advance studies for EISs, EAs, and related documents. • Manage consultant deliverables for endangered species, ecology, energy, air/noise, visual, and environmental justice components. • Participate in project meetings with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies; prepare written communications and notices. • Liaise with US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Army Corps of Engineers, NYS Department of State, and OGS on permit applications. • Represent design and construction teams on environmental matters with federal and state regulatory bodies.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least four years of experience in NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting, with a master’s degree able to substitute for two years of experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in environmental science, planning, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture or a related field is required, along with strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to manage multiple projects. Experience coordinating with designers and regulatory agencies, and a substantial background in environmental analysis (≥50% of work) is essential. • Minimum four years of NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting experience (master’s degree can offset two years). • Recent (within 2 years) work experience in NYS with fluency in current state environmental regulations. • Accredited degree in environmental science, planning, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, or related field. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross‑functional teams. • At least 50% of professional time spent on environmental analysis, including preparation/review of impact statements and field investigations.

Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $95,000 to $120,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance.
